Hi… your HeroQuest game have expansions packs ? (Kellars Keep, Withc Lord return… Againt ogre horde and etc…)?

  2. April 22, 2009 9:54 am

At the moment, no expansion packs are in the game.

I hope to add them when I make version 2, but that won’t be for a while.

I hope you enjoy the main game though!

Thank you very much. You’ve presented all of us with this jewel. I knew previous videogame versions of this superb game, but yours is my preferred one!

Watch out! There could be some evil and dangerous companies that might turn their blodshed eyes upon your game, and if so, they will try to hunt you, in the name of protecting their unholy Empire of Greed! So, please be careful…

Again, thank you so much, and regards from Spain.

This project looks exciting. I hope you’re still working on it. I would love to see a completed version with all expansions included!

    drathe,

I am still working on it. Rather than continue with the path I was on, I went straight to version 2, so the beta of version 1 is as good as it gets right now publicly. Version 2 is coming along nicely (and slowly), and I am working on the expansions!

Thanks for stopping by. (Your site is very nice by the way!)

Very nice work, recently I have tried various “amateur” Heroquest games, and yours is the best. It plays exactly like the original game.
I hope you will add an editor in your future releases of the game. There are a lot of improvements that can be done, like better menu system and graphic, but as it is now it already plays very well.
Feel free to contact me anytime if you need some feedback or suggestions.

Hey there. i’ve been looking everywhere for some decent Hero Quest games and this one is excellent! I really do hope that you are continuing with this project? The previous comment about the expansions, that would be great also being able to ‘edit’ make our own levels, this would be good to. But I understand that these things take time and your not getting paid for the effort you put into making this game.

Hey. I just stumbled onto your HQ video game and it’s pretty awesome!! Plays exactly like the board game, and you can see every dice roll like when monsters defend against magic attacks and such. I hope you’re still plugging away at the expansion packs because I would surely love to play them.

    Take care,

Hello! Just played through your beta; So great! Thanks so much for bringing this amazing game back to life. It’s been a little quiet on here, so I was just wanting to see if there is still work being done or if this project has come to a stop? Either way, good job.
Also, other computer games of this seem elusive. I came across a heroquest online, but all the script is in German and I can’t navigate it well enough to see if it works. Anyone else find this?
    Thanks and Thanks

    G’day all,

I also hope that development is continuing on this.

I’ve created a HQ game also. You can find it at this address:

Although after playing this version, I’m thinking of incorporating some of the design ideas into my game.

Hey have you thought anoutgetting an iPad or iPhone version made?

  13. April 6, 2013 9:27 am

You cannot move after an attack.
For instance your bararian is starting his turn adjacent to an orc.
You click on “roll” to know how much squares you can move this turn.
However if you decide to not move and attack first, you haven’t the possiblity to move after.

  14. April 6, 2013 9:18 pm

Richard, this is by design. The rules state you can either move, then take an action; or you can take an action, then move. The program needs to know what you’re doing first, so the moment you click a button, you have decided. Thus, if you choose Roll, then that means you are choosing to move first. If you didn’t actually move any spaces, you’re out of luck!

When I load a saved game nothing happens. After that I press ‘New Game’ and just get a black screen.

This is excellent. You should really make a smartphone or tablet app out of this. I congratulate you from Argentina.

    Hi there,
Nice work! Looks really good. I am a tad confused as to how to load games though? The load game file I have is called “Desktop\matt.xls.hqp” and it on my desktop. Is that correct? I’m also using a Mac running OSX 10.7.5. Could that be the reason why?

Also, sometimes when I click on “new game” I just get a black screen (same as Tim’s comment). Any ideas?

    Thanks for your help

Hey – you did a great job! I’ve got the original board game, but I’ve been searching and searching for a PC version so my boyfriend and I can play without needing a Zargon :P. Will there ever be a new version available? Or, if not, then will you ever release the source code? I found a couple of bugs with the wizard that I’d love to fix :D

  22. June 21, 2014 3:21 pm

Gamer Girl – you’ll be happy to know that a new version is being worked on, with new enhancements and bug fixes. More info coming soon.

Hi Rob, great work. Out of all the fan-made games, I still find your’s to be the best. The minimal graphics offer a unique, stylized touch. Did you see that a UK vendor is working on a 25th anniversary version of the board game? Worth checking out. Good luck with completing V2, we’re all rooting for you.

Great job Rob V! In the last mission when killing the Witch Lord, he stays on the board and, although he cannot attack or defend, he can’t be passed. But this is the only bug I encountered. Looking forward to your updates, I presume everybody on this website does. Any news on this?
