Heroquest Update: Version 1.3.19 beta released

Changes this go-around:

  • 1.3.19 – fixed bug where in certain cases a search for secret doors/traps failed to find a door/trap hero was on or next to (Mar 18, 2009)
  • 1.3.18 – fixed bug where FireStorm incorrectly applied damage as well as incorrectly displayed the amount of that damage (Mar 18, 2009)
  • 1.3.17 – fixed bug where a hero who was killed by a trap didn’t completely end their turn, causing the next hero to display the “No more moves left” error when clicking the board. (Mar 12, 2009)
  • 1.3.16 – fixed critical bug that froze the game when all heroes were either dead or left the quest and a monster attempted to move, looking for a hero to hunt (Mar 12, 2009)
  • 1.3.15 – fixed bug in Quest 7 where a trap added 2 Body Points instead of subtracting (Mar 11, 2009)
  • 1.3.14 – fixed bug where player could continue moving even when a popup window was open (ex: Trap dialog)
  • 1.3.13 – fixed bug with certain spells that allowed monsters and heroes a chance to save against the effects of spell by rolling a 5 or 6 – it was only saving with a roll of a 6 (Mar 11, 2009)
  • 1.3.12 – fixed critical bug that froze the game when Balur casts FireStorm in Quest 8; he was incrementing his kill count for each monster killed, which is allowed only for Heroes (Mar 11, 2009)
  • 1.3.11 – fixed bug where unequipping the Talisman of Lore sometimes caused Mind Points to decrease by 2 instead of 1
  • 1.3.10 – fixed bug where new save format did not save heal amt for heal potion treasures; heal potion treasures are now hard-coded values, not dynamic from quest file (Mar 10, 2009)
  • 1.3.X – completely changed the approach I took of displaying popup windows (battles, spell casting, etc), because they occasionally blocked dialog alerts; went from using frames to a JLayeredPane system; should be no real noticeable difference to the player (Mar 6, 2009)

    we want an editor, or the expansion sets

    I really thought the ork boss In quest six could use spells. kinda sad when my equipment didnt break because of chaos magic.

    Love the game you did a great job on coding it. I see its an older project but are you still working on it any or willing to give out the source code so someone else can do some editing?

    Also : seems great, but I can’t find how to run it once I’ve downloaded the files… what do I need to download to run Java stuff ? I looked up a few sites and it realy seems a nightmare, at least on ubuntu, to put a java environement in place. Could you point me to a single file which can do the whole thing ? it surely must exist…
